I pulled off the highway, halfway home with this great tug backwards to see you.
Maybe it's because this night was one amongst so few between now and November 17 when we both have time on our side.
But I kept driving along the road through houses, to home.
I did Japanese flower arrangement in Year 8 with Mrs De Lima.
She still remembers me.
At my grandfather's, then my grandmother's, then my Aunty's funeral, she was there - a good Catholic, our local church: my school church.
One day I brought in a Bird of Paradise flower from my grandparent's sweeping yard. (I stayed there on Wednesdays.)
Mrs De Lima was so taken aback. It was then I learned these strange plants were rare and wonderful.
I learnt Japanese flower arrangement from Mrs De Lima every Thursday afternoon during the last two lessons.
She taught me the beauty was also in the line and the space.
