Common Ally Tea

The only common theme a novel can carry is time and character.
Anything else becomes predictable,
Even though that's what I get from the same people who can't tolerate it.

The school of black-clad smart-device devotees,
creating their spare time in mass-produced material,
alight from public transport.
Some drinking sophisticated singularly-sourced coffee
in paper cups with plastic lids
sporting supermarket-chain names
promising quality for as many coins as you can muster
under a note.

They advertise that life should be a bargain
that is readily available to everyone.

I think of where all the inspiration came for their accoutrements
but cannot find their premise.

There is a strange hypocrisy here.

I don't have to tell you that.
